First Art Journal Page (Beauty)

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I tried something new and I am really excited and happy about it.
Lately I have not been getting enough time to craft. I have been feeling restless because of the lack of creative outlet.
So I thought of giving Art Journalling a try...as it doesn't take much time.

I started by making a simple watercolour background...just some pink...some purple and a hint of red...And I just had to use my rose stencil on it...

Then I started wondering what to write in that empty space and found this quote...
I practiced some handlettering and wrote down the quote...
I gave the beautiful background a twist (to make it my kind of beautiful ;) ) with some tattered paper pieces distressed with Vintage Photo Ink ...

I don't know whether it looks good or not...but it did a hell of a good job calming my restless crafty mind. :D

What do you guys think about my first Art Journalling attempt? Are their any suggestions/tips you like to give?
Leave a comment below. :)

P.S. I blurred the board pins at the corners so that it doesn't distract from the page.
I ended up pinning the page on the display board of my cubicle in office :)

Changing Picture card

Hello crafters,

I am here with yet another card for a kid. I love making cards for children coz of the adorable expressions they give when they are surprised by the interactive cards.

Well this was one difficult card to make...
The card consists of 2 pictures which get changed by the pull or push of tab on the right hand side.

After you pull the tab, another photo appears :)

To the first set, I added some vintage printed paper...

For the second set, I added some Damask printed paper.

Revamped frame

Hello crafters,

I have been wanting to try something outside of cards for a long time now...

And my sister's birthday gave me a chance...
I made a card for her...but that didn't seem enough...
So I bought a simple wooden frame and started decorating it...

This was the wooden frame I bought...

Some printed paper, some ribbon, some embellishments...
And the frame was done :)

Star Lantern (Diwali)

Hello crafters,

I know Diwali has gone...but as I started my blog after Diwali...
I am posting the lantern pics now... :D

I made a star lantern this year for Diwali...with cut-outs on alternate panels...

I made the individual parts out of white paper and then painted alternate panels red and yellow.

And this is how it looked after lighting up :)

I also wanted to share this simple traditional lantern I made last year....

Masculine popup card

Hello everyone,

Today I am here with a masculine card I made for a friend.

I always find that I am limited with the colours and embellishments I can use while making Masculine cards.
So I usually play with neutral colours...may it be...cardstock, patterned paper and ribbons...

I found this patterned paper with the clockwork at my local craft store. It is such a good layer to add to any masculine card

The inside of the card has two V-fold popups.

P.S. - I made this card in a hurry. So the pics are not so great.

Christmas Tag

Hello everyone,

After making the winter-themed Christmas card...I was very tempted to make another one with Christmas colors...the red of the baubles...the green of the trees...the white of the snow...

So I went ahead and made this Christmas tag...

It is inspired from one of Jennifer McGuire's cards.

I used the below materials for this tag :

A new Resist technique

Hello crafters,

It is incredible how your color palette changes according to the change in season.

The weather has been cold lately and I am automatically inclined to use winter colors. :)

So I made this Clean and Simple Christmas tag...

I have been wanting to use resist techniques. But I don't have embossing powder or ink (yet ;) ).

Also I was not fully satisfied with effect from vaseline and crayon resist technique.

Drum-roll please...I bring to you.......a new resist technique

While I was playing and trying some things...I was surprised when I tried this...
All you need is a Correction pen (Whitener) and Distress

Start by making any design or shapes with the Correction Pen. Once it is dry, start adding colour to the area with a makeup wedge and any Distress ink.

You will notice that the ink doesnt colour the correction pen design/shape.

As I wanted to use winter colours. I made some stars from the correction pen.

I dont have any Christmas themed stamps so I printed out the Christmas greetings.

And I added a strip in the middle and coloured it with Silver gel pen.

If you like this technique, you might like this too...Starry Sky Card

Hope you all like this Christmas tag.
