Neutrals...

Hello,

I find it amusing how I got through phases of a colour theme favourites...sometimes I create cards only with rainbow colours...sometimes only blues...sometimes only neutrals...does this happen to you too?

Right now I am in the neutrals colour theme phase...
Cards with a neutrals colour theme make great masculine cards...

For this card, I have used a pattern paper I bought recently...I am in love with the pattern on this...it also has some copper foiling on it...

Heya crafters,

Has it ever happened with you that you see a sketch on a challenge and brain gets flooded with too many ideas for that sketch?!?!?!
This happened with me...and what caused this was this sketch from Stamplorations...
This sketch is so versatile...I already have ideas for 4-5 cards I can make based on this sketch... I just hope I get the time to make them all...

I have fallen in love with Kraft cardstock recently...and all the credit goes to Kraft+ challenge...

Black, White & Gold

Hello crafters,

Its been a long time since I have posted on this blog...a lot of reasons for the absence...I was busy...had lost my mojo...and more...
But the enormous amount of inspiration on blogland brought me back...an inspiration photo...a new product...a new technique...there are so many ways blogland inspires you and you just can't resist sitting on your craft table and create something awesome...

The trigger for me was this beautiful colour theme at Color Throwdown this week...

Another trigger was the awesome stamp set by Ryn Tanaka...which is a new addition to my stamp collection...

Another Paper Tole card

Hello everyone,

I love the variety of themes in the challenges...sketches...colours...techniques...occasions...
It provides us with so many ideas to mix and match and create something new...

I was very happy to see the technique challenge at Mod Squad...its Paper Tole...
Having posted a tutorial for the same a week back...I was already equipped for this challenge... :D
You can check my tutorial on Paper Tole here...

I was inspired by this cool sketch at Stamplorations...

So...on to the card I made...

Casology has a monochrome challenge...so I have used neutrals and just one colour...Worn-Lipstick DI

I have used the script stamp from my new Bo Bunny "Its Written" stamp set...to cover the white panel...
Added Distress ink coloured side-border to the script panel...
Mounted the whole thing on kraft card base...

I glued the paper tole rose(coloured with DI) on the script panel and attached a flag label(coloured with DI and spritzed with water)...
And finally stamped the sentiment on the flag...so tagging along in the Whimsy Stamps challenge...

A better look at the paper tole rose...

Scrapbooker PHD has a CAS theme...
I wanted to keep the card clean and simple...so I didn't add any embellishments...

Simple Tribal card

Hello crafters,

Its fun to mix up things...so I mixed up the 2 things I love...doodling and CAS...
I was inspired by Marion's card at the MUSE challenge this week
I have kept the card shape and layout same as Marion's.
But I have changed up the colour and design...
Instead of Marion's floral design, I went for a more tribal design with lot of triangles...which is the twist at Artistic Inspirations

I did the doodling with white gel pen and white Sakura marker...
I like how white doodles look on the dark cardstock...

Here is another look at the card...

I think I am gonna make more of these...with different colours and designs...

Braided Card - I

Hello everyone,

There are so many different things you can do with papercutting...its just amazing...
I saw a braided card on Pinterest once and I just had to try it...

There are many templates available online...
But I made my own template as I didn't have any at hand....
I started out by marking the lines with a pencil...
I drew the stencil on the inside of the card...and cut the lines with an exacto knife

It looks so pretty once the braiding is done...
I added a panel of coloured cardstock on the inside of the card to bring out the beauty of the braid...
And added a stamped sentiment...

Here another look at the card:

Thank You card

Hello everyone,

I am back with another CAS card...

I always try to learn new techniques...but some techniques need new supplies...and sometimes you just cant invest in something...
And then there are frugal ways to recreate the technique...
So I set off to try making and using the homemade version of modelling paste(I love experimenting)...
I found many recipes with the following ingredients:
Acrylic paint
Baby Powder
Glue

I used my rose stencil and used a business card to swipe it through my stencil...It looked beautiful...

But after it dried...it looked translucent...I think it was because my quantity of powder was more....I will add more paint next time...
But the translucency gave it a very beautiful effect as the background stencil and colours were visible through the rose...

Now, for the background I used a Hampton Art stencil and some distress inks...
I think this is the first time I have used 2 stencils on a single card :)
I also added a stitched border to it. I used some pink embroidery thread for the stitching....
The sentiment is handwritten with a white gel pen.

The card depicts the view through the grills of my window of the lovely shrubs of roses in the garden!

Sunlight card

Hello crafters,

Here again with a quick card...

I have been wanting to make a card with sun rays for quite some time now...
So yesterday night I made not one but two...

I have used masking technique to make the sun rays...

The first one is monochromatic...I have used Wild Honey distress ink...for the background as well as the rays...

The rays in this card are softer...

For the second card, the background was coloured using Worn Lipstick distress ink and the sun rays using Wild Honey distress ink.

The rays is this one are crisp...

I mounted the panels on watercolour paper as card base and stamped a sentiment on a corner for both the cards...

Do leave your comments and thoughts to let me know which one you like better...

Blue CAS card

Hello crafters,

Another go at a CAS card...an also a one layer card...

I bought a small flower punch recently...
So I used the punch in a row...to get this lovely line of flowers...I have glued a brown piece of cardstock on the inside of the card behind the flower line.
Next I coloured the part of the card above the flower line with Tumbled Glass distress ink and a sponge.
I used this beautiful bird silhouette stamp from Hampton Art on a corner.
Then I sponged Tumbled Glass distress ink again but this time through a stencil from Hampton Art.
And last came the sentiment.

I like making these kind of cards. They are so quick to make and the end product makes you happy.
This card was done in 15 mins. It would have been quicker...but the punch wasn't very friendly... ;)

Hope you all like the card.
Do share your comments and thought on the card.

Tulip Card

Hello everyone,

I have been smitten by the CAS style of card-making lately...

It is hard for me to avoid adding layers or elements to the card...
So making a CAS card is kind of a challenge for me...but at the same time it helps me push myself to do and learn a new style...
The idea for this card just came to my mind out of nowhere...

I have coloured the stripes in shades of Turquoise, Purple and Pink with distress inks.
I used Postits for masking...

Then I drew the outline of the tulips from a stencil and coloured the tulips in white using Sakura White Marker and White gel pen...added the sentiment as well with White gel pen...And the card was done...

What do you think about the card???
