Oodles of Doodles Card

Hellooooo,

I am hosting the challenge for this week at Daring Cardmakers...
I chose the theme of Doodle...so obvious :P
Make your pen your friend...scribble, doodle, draw shapes/patterns, make marks...just go with the flow....

And I definitely went with the flow....

I stamped a sentiment in the middle with a Hampton Art stamp and drew a mandala around it...
The background was made by smooshing distress inks...

Do join us overt at Daring Cardmakers...the DT have made fabulous card incorporating doodle...

Coffee Shaker Card

Time for another card for the Summer Coffee Lover's Hop,

Yeah...yeah...I am still hooked to the black cardstock and Sakura moonlight pens combo... :P

But...I made a shaker card this time...Shake...shake...shake...

I cut out a coffee mug shape with a kraft knife...for the card front....
Stamped with Archival Ink for some tone on tone stamping using Stamplorations Bold Sentiments (I know....black on black doesnot sound like a good idea...but I wanted to add a subtle detail as I wanted the bright doodles to be the focus...)

Added some clear sequins for the shaker element...
I have been hoarding these sequins for 2 years now...finally...used them...phew...

I made a card with cutout of the mug too...do come back to see what I made with it...
Will be posting it soon

Coffee Doodles

Hello everyone,

It is the season of Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop... :D
No one can resist creating cards for this bloghop...
After all it coffee and crafts...the best combination ever...

I can't really draw well...but I sure can doodle...so I doodled away for this card...
Yup...no stamps on this card...only a piece of cardstock and white gel pen...

I drew a lot of little cups and mugs with different designs...
Added the sentiment in the end...

Adding a better photo...

Simple Tribal card

Hello crafters,

Its fun to mix up things...so I mixed up the 2 things I love...doodling and CAS...
I was inspired by Marion's card at the MUSE challenge this week
I have kept the card shape and layout same as Marion's.
But I have changed up the colour and design...
Instead of Marion's floral design, I went for a more tribal design with lot of triangles...which is the twist at Artistic Inspirations

I did the doodling with white gel pen and white Sakura marker...
I like how white doodles look on the dark cardstock...

Here is another look at the card...

I think I am gonna make more of these...with different colours and designs...

Blog/Art Planner

Hello crafters,

Its hard to keep up with all the challenges...their themes...end dates...and then to keep track of the ideas that just pop-in...the pending DIY project...
So I decided to make a Blog and Art planner for myself...
I wanted the inside to be pretty simple...but I wanted to try out something new on the cover...
And this is the first time I clicked photos while making the cover...

I read a good quote about Art somewhere...it was pretty long...but I liked the ending...it said "Splash a little paint...draw a little line...have fun"...

I started out with the cover of a cereals pack...its cardboard...so its pretty sturdy...
I cut it to measurements and punched two holes for binding with a ribbon

I did the same with the pages...

Well...as I said its the first time I tried to take in-progress pics...I missed out on the first one :D...
I am always so eager to move to the next step...that I forget to take pics...

Anyways....I applied a mixture of fevicol(glue) and water on the cardboard and then pasted a newspaper clipping on it (you can see it through the paint here). Next I applied a coat of acrylic colour which I thinned down with water to get the translucency...

Then started the zentangle and doodle madness...I covered the front of the cover with doodles and patterns

To match with the quote I added splashes of paint...
I also cut out some leaves from scraps of pattern paper and glued them...

Now...time I pasted the quote...I teared it roughly and distressed the edges with Vintage photo...

To finish it off...I went over the whole cover with a mix of fevicol, water and a bit of blue paint (as I wanted to mute the colours of the quote and leaf a bit)

I would like to mention that I was inspired to try out this new technique after I saw a tutorial on My Art Journal. I love Diane's work. You should check it out. She makes such beautiful pieces of art. Its awesome!!!

I would like to add this planner cover in the following challenges:

Henna Design Card

Hello crafters,

I have been doodling henna designs on the pages of my notebooks since my childhood days...
I love Mehendi (Henna) designs...especially the Paisleys...

I used an art journal page I made as the background paper...
I drew the henna design on a corner of the page with a Pigma Micron tip pen.

Then I mounted the piece on white watercolour paper which  then mounted on the card base. The base was coloured with Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks

The Henna Design was inspired by Arty Sorts Indian Motifs challenge

I loved the asymmetry of the sketch on the sweetest thing challenge blog...

Whereas the colours were inspired my the Runway Inspired challenge for this week

Here is another look at the card...

Update: I also made an envelope to go along with the card
Here's a look at the matching envelope:

This being a New Year card...entering this card in the CRAFT challenge

Making your own background/pattern paper is a lot of fun...so entering this card in the following challenges as well:

This was a quick card to do...a piece of an art journal page...some doodling...some distressing and the card was ready...so entering it in Speed Craft challenge

Anniversay Special Fold card - II

Hello everyone,

This is the second card I made for my husband for our marriage anniversary...

It is a special fold...

I love Zentangle...so I added some zentangle patterns with White Gel pen on the front of the card...

When you open the card...the folds of the card are revealed...
I attached some black damask pattern paper on alternate panels...and wrote a message on one of the panels...

The card has a back panel...where you can add more design and messages...
I added the zentangle pattern on the front here too...

One more view of the folds and patterns on the card

I love how the white gel pen looks on the dark chocolate card base...
The cardstock itself is a dark chocolate colour...

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,

Christmas is not far away...and I have been loving creating Christmas cards...
I love zentangle and doodling a lot...
I have also been loving chevron pattern lately...
I thought of combining the two...

So here is the card...

A few more pics of the card and the baubles...

First, I drew the baubles and filled them in with some patterns. Then I drew the chevron border with the White Sakura marker (I am loving it). Then added some hand lettering.

But something seemed to be missing. I wished I could add a baker's twine. But I don't have any....so...I took some embroidery thread and coloured it with a red marker.

Hope you all like it.

Doodles and Watercolour Card

Hello crafters,

Lately I have been going by the "Less is more" mantra...
I made a simple card with minimum supplies yesterday
I saw this ombre watercolour background from my earlier watercolour experiments lying around my craft table and came up with this layout. Adhered the watercolour panels to black cardstock to add some contrast.

For the front panel, the doodled with correction pen first. But the design was hardly visible on the background. So I went over it with a 02 micron tip pen.

Here is a close-up of the doodle...

And another pic of the card...
