Xmas Baubles

Hello everyone,

With my mojo still intact, I made one more holiday card...
The inspiration for this card came from Ashli Oliver...I love her style...

The background was coloured with watered-down Distress Inks...same was done with the baubles...
I stamped the baubles with Bo-Bunny script stamp...added a twine bow and 2 flags to write my sentiment...
I couldn't what sentiment to write...so I have left it blank for the while...

Snowflake

Hello everyone,

My second post for the day....
Lately I have been so lost in all the cool crafting supplies, that I forgot how much I loved paper-cutting...so I did just that...a piece of white paper and scissors...and I created a Snowflake,,,

A paper-cutting snowflake, a few splatters, a handwritten sentiment and a faux-stitching border...thats all it took to make this simple holiday card...

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

But the enormous amount of inspiration on blogland brought me back...an inspiration photo...a new product...a new technique...there are so many ways blogland inspires you and you just can't resist sitting on your craft table and create something awesome...

The trigger for me was this beautiful colour theme at Color Throwdown this week...

Card for a cause

Hello everyone,

Today I want to share a card I made for a cause that is very close to my heart...
I made it for the Becca's blog hop...for National Domestic Violence Month...
There are a lot of things I wanted to say but I think I will just share Becca's beautiful words here...

"You may have felt alone in the dark...

THERE ARE OTHERS WHO SHARE YOUR STORY

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

And no matter how many tears you've cried

IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT

Though you feel damaged and torn

THERE IS HOPE AND LIFE

Though your heart is scraped and hidden

YOU ARE WORTHY OF REAL LOVE

Because you are AMAZING. And you are more beautiful than you could ever imagine"

I hope people find strength is her words...
My heart swells up when I think about all the people who have gone through or are going through Domestic Violence...I think no one should have to go through that trauma...ever...irrespective of gender, religion, class...

I want to thank you from my heart Becca for such a great hop for shedding some light over this sensitive topic...and I am sure you have inspired many victims of Domestic Violence to be Strong and Brave...

Latte lettering

Heya there,

This is my second card for the Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop...this is a simple one...
I tried hand-lettering on this card...

The main panel of this card was created using coffee and STAMPlorations Bold Sentiments stamp set...
I had a lot of fun coloring, splattering and making cup marks with coffee concoction on this panel...
I drew the cup with a Pigma Micron Tip pen and did the lettering with white Sakura Gelly Roll pen..

And it is pretty easy...and you don't need Staz-On for it :D

Butterflies and Rainbows

Hello crafters,

Back with another card....

For this card I was inspired by the cool banner of The Craft Shop which is the inspiration photo at Create Something Catchy this week...

Another inspiration was the theme at The Mixed Media Card Challenge this month - Butterflies

I recently received my first order from Stamplorations...and with it came the beautiful Shower of Flutters stencil....so I just had to use it...

A mixture of techniques

Hello everyone,

It been quite some time since I posted something here...
Actually I have been busy trying my hands on Art Journaling and Scrapbooking...
I also started a new blog for documenting the same...
I would love if you would check out my new blog...My Journaling Journey...
Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

Well finally I made a card today...and quite a different one...
I have been playing around with some of my new purchases...embossing powder, gelatos, stencils....

There are oh so many techniques I used on this card...
Lets start with the panel with butterfly...I heat embossed a butterfly stamp (look at how shine and cool it looks...love it) on a piece of kraft cardstock...
Then I coloured the cardstock with pink and purple gelatos....
Next I kept my new Balzer Design Rug Stencil (so glad I finally have it :D) on it...and picked up the colours with a baby wipe...
I also tore and curled the cardstock at a few places...

Birds Spinner card

Hello everyone,

I always like adding twists to my cards...
So yesterday I made a mutiple spinner card....

I was inspired by this awesome sketch from Stamplorations...

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I had to do...
I used a stamp and stencil set...for the background and the birds

Stencils and Stamps only

Hello,

I find it very difficult to create a background using mutiple stencils and stamps...
But anyway I gave it one more try...
And let me tell you...I am quite please with the outcome...

I created an art journal page

For the background...I rubbed Distress Ink pads (Vintage Photo and Olive Green) directly on the stencils...spritzed it with water and put the stencil ink side down on the page...I have used a flower stencil and an alphabet stencil for the background...
Then I used some Bo-Bunny pattern stamps with Wild Honey DI...

Next I used a honeycomb stamp on a piece of paper and cut out a heart....I used Vintage Photo on the edges of the heart...
"Do what you" was also written using the alphabet stencil...
I coloured a flag with Archival blank ink and wrote "Love" with wihte gel pen...

In the end I stamped a butterfly and some floral design on 2 corners of the page with archival black ink...

I am entering this in the Stamplorations Stamps and Stencils Challenge

Art Journal flip-through

Hello everyone,

Some time ago, I came across a blog called Balzer Designs...
And now I am hooked to it...
I look through her blog regularly...there are so many tutorials and How-Tos...so much to learn...
And her posts are awesome...
I just love her style...

I have been trying a few new things...in my Blog Planner/Art Journal...

So here goes a flip-through of my journal...Julie Fei-Fan style...

I made this front-cover a while ago...I also shared a step-by-step for this here

I have been trying to get better at lettering...here's an attempt...A beautiful quote always helps :D
(I am entering this layout in the ARTastic challenge

I love love love doodling...and this quote is just so awesome...so when you combine the 2..........
Although I am still not sure if I want to colour it or not....hmmmm.....

Now this is something I am not very good at...creating background with multiple stencils and stamps...But I think this turned out pretty good...

And now....the back side of the cover...I did some photo transfer...yayyy...I really liked how this turned out...

Icecream card

Hello everyone,

Phewww!!! I have been trying to complete this card for almost 2 weeks now...
But I was really determined to finish it...
I saw a cute quote somewhere which said " I love you more than Icecream"...

So my card front says : "I Love you..."

And when you open the card....
it says " More than Icecream"

A Quick Tag

Hello everyone,

When you don't have much time on hand and you really really want to do something crafty...Tags are the way out...atleast for me... :D
And Tag You're It challenge always has some awesome inspiration for tags...

I really like Donna's colourful tag with a hint of black...

For my tag, I used my mini-blending tool with different Distress Inks to create the circles....
Next I took a piece of black cardstock and cut out some flowers using a punch...I adhered this piece to the bottom of my tag...
I stamped the tag...vertically...
Now I wanted something for the upper corner of the tag...so I used the flowers I had punched out earlier here...

While I was at it, I made a variation of this tag...

I am sorry for the quality of photos. I have lent my camera to someone...so have to take photos from my smartphone(which takes very bad pictures) :(

Anyways, I would love to read your comments about my tag.
By the way...which tag design do you think looks better?

Another Paper Tole card

Hello everyone,

I love the variety of themes in the challenges...sketches...colours...techniques...occasions...
It provides us with so many ideas to mix and match and create something new...

I was very happy to see the technique challenge at Mod Squad...its Paper Tole...
Having posted a tutorial for the same a week back...I was already equipped for this challenge... :D
You can check my tutorial on Paper Tole here...

I was inspired by this cool sketch at Stamplorations...

So...on to the card I made...

Casology has a monochrome challenge...so I have used neutrals and just one colour...Worn-Lipstick DI

I have used the script stamp from my new Bo Bunny "Its Written" stamp set...to cover the white panel...
Added Distress ink coloured side-border to the script panel...
Mounted the whole thing on kraft card base...

I glued the paper tole rose(coloured with DI) on the script panel and attached a flag label(coloured with DI and spritzed with water)...
And finally stamped the sentiment on the flag...so tagging along in the Whimsy Stamps challenge...

A better look at the paper tole rose...

Scrapbooker PHD has a CAS theme...
I wanted to keep the card clean and simple...so I didn't add any embellishments...

Shaker Card with a twist

Hello everyone,

I am back with another Valentine Card...can't stop making them...:D
Shaker cards are very much in trend now...but I have observed that there are very less variations of shaker cards...meaning...it usually an image in the background and an acetate either stitched or adhered with foam tape...

And I always like to give my cards a twist...
So here is my shaker card...

Here is a closer look at the shaker elements and the image behind...

I know what you are thinking...where is the twist?????

Wait for it...

Open the card and.............

A bit more....

And Tada...the twist... it is a see-through shaker card...the image is on the inside of the card...

Here's another look at the see-through shaker card...
(My second futile attempt to emphasise that it is see-through :P )

Now that the suspense is over...let me tell you about the all the elements on the card...

The card background - I have used Worn Liptick DI with a circular dauber. I wanted a messy look so I did not try to blend the colour and I also spritzed it with water several time. I have used Vintage Photo DI for the edges of the card. And lastly, I have flicked white acrylic paint with a toothbrush for the white splatter.

The B&W heart - The heart is part of a digi from The Graphic Fairy. I omitted the couple that was in the middle of the heart. Fuzzy cut the image.

Shaker elements - I have used some silver sequins, light pink pearls and small silver balls

The shaker background - I used the heart cut-out from the front panel on the inside of the card. The sentiment is stamped using letters from different stamps. The doodle border is drawn using a Micron tip pen.

Hope you like my shaker card and the twist...

Note: Sorry for the quality of the pics. Had to take them with mobile. :(

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Create Something Catchy - Love-themed shaker card
Stamplorations - Heart + stamped sentiment
The Mixed Media Card Challenge - Love themed card
The House That Stamps Built - Pink + Hearts

Valentine Card

Hi,

My second post for the day...as I was saying...just can't stop making Valentine cards...
For this card, I tried out a few new things...a different type of layout...first time using Washi tape...and also the colour combination

I cut-out panels of brown and grey cardstock and left a gap in between where I stuck the Washi tape.
Fuzzy-cut the rose and coloured it in Worn Lipstick DI...

The first flag label I coloured a piece of white cardstock with Worn Lipstick DI and spritzed it with water and stamped the sentiment in Archival Black Ink. This was mounted on a grey and white flag label.
The second flag label is a piece of washi tape pasted on a peice of white paper.

To finish off the card, I drew a border with white gel pen. I also higlighted the panels with white gel pen
